IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS that we report the passing of Father Tom Seabridge's mother, Catherine ("Kay") Seabridge. We offer our heartfelt condolences to her family and prayers for the repose of her soul. Catherine died peacefully at home at the age of 88 with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband Robert, her sons Robert, Rev. Thomas Seabridge, Bill (Jolynn) and Gary (Christine). Siblings George and Vera, grandson Casey and other grand and great-grandchildren. She was noted for her charity work with special needs kids nursing homes and hospitals as ’’YAK YAK’’ the clown. She will be missed by so many. Services will be held on Friday, August 27, 1 PM, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 5751 Locust Avenue, Carmichael, CA, telephone number (916) 483-8454. Our Pastor is Rev. Thomas Seabridge. Father Tom serves as Pastor of the Amador Catholic Community, comprising St. Patrick Parish (Jackson-Volcano-Pioneer), (Sutter Creek-Plymouth), and Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish (Ione).

Our Parochial Vicar is Fr Geraldo Ranin. He was parochial vicar of Immaculate Conception Church in Downieville. We welcome Fr. Aldo to our Amador Family.

Notre Dame offering on-line courses for 1/2 price. Notre Dame University's Step program offers on-line courses in theology, scripture, Catholic Doctrine and teachings, and history. They are now offereing one program a session (sessions are 6 weeks with one week of orientation) for 1/2 (normally $99.00 now $49.50) This session (Aug 30th - Oct 4th) they are offereing "the Creed" at 1/2 price. The Journey Continues! ... for our Youth
The Jackson/Ione and Sutter Creek youth groups are joining as one in the Amador Catholic Community Youth Group. First meeting will be at St. Patrick Parish Hall Sept 12th after the 11:00 am Sunday mass We have remodeled a teen recreation center in Sutter Creek andmeetings will be at both St Patrick Parish Hall and Immaculate Conception Parish Hall. Come join us as we get together to open the word, share our Faith, and have some fun.

Festa Italiano Ravioli dinner. The Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) will be hosting a ravioli dinner on Oct. 9th at the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall. They will be serving Antipasto, Salad, Ravioli with Sausage, Bread, Wine, Dessert, and Coffee. Cocktails are at 5:30 with dinner at 7:00. Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children 12 and under. Tickets are Available at each Parish Office or by calling Carla O’Dell at 267-9261or Joe Asbury at 295-4442. Children’s adoration. Moms, need adoration? Can’t get there in the middle of the day? We will have “children’s adoration” at St. Mary’s from 1:30 to 2:00 (after mass) on the 3rd Thursdays of the month (June 17th this month). We’ll just assume it won’t be completely quiet during that half hour, however, children should try to act respectfully. Quite adoration will commence at 2:00 pm.

Crafty? Free on the third Wednesday of each month from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm?

Join the women of the YLI in thier new craft social group the Divinity Designers to make crafts for the upcoming annual bazaar. Supplies will be provided for the items to be made. Wednesday morning Bible study group will meet for prayer on July 21 at 9:00 a.m. Bible study will resume on Wednesday, August 25 to pick up books. We will being a seven (7) week study on James and Jude. Please call Susan DuBois at 296-1231 to confirm. Book order will go in on August 11.

CHANGES TO THE ROMAN MISSAL ON THE HORIZON.New translations of the Roman Missal are coming in late 2010 or 2011.The people's parts at Mass will change when the Holy See approves the new translation.The USCCB voted to approve the final sections of the English translation during the November 17 session of the Fall General Assembly; it now goes to the Vatican for approval, expected sometime in 2010.Implementation at the parish level will commence about a year following Vatican approval.Click here for a preview of the changes.
